CONCERT BAND ATTIRE

The Cluster Concert is quickly approaching on November 7th, so make sure your concert attire fits properly. If you simply need tuxedo alterations and purchased your tux prior to last school year (2016/17), Savvy Formalwear at North Point Mall will do this free of charge. If you purchased your tux last school year through Tuxedo Warehouse and need alterations or would like to use their trade-in program, please click here

  • Our band directors have decided that students will no longer wear cummerbunds, and will now wear black bow ties rather than blue ones. The band will provide one new black bow tie for each student free of charge.

If you were fitted in September for a dress, see Mr. Ehrlich to pick it up. Note: Payment is due before he will give it to you. Pay for the dress either on this website (look for the Concert Dress under new forms on My Account/Forms tab) or send in a check/cash to the Dropbox by Mr. Reid's office. Checks should be made out to CHS Band Boosters.

concert band fees: Full Payment is due now!

All current Marching Band families have accounts and can login to the same account to pay their Concert Band Fees. $100 Concert Band fees are due now and can be paid by clicking on My Account/Forms on the toolbar above. Then scroll down to New Forms to see the concert fees. Some students submitted their Concert Band forms, so if you do not see this form under New Forms, then click on My Account/Previous Purchases. Click on the order number that has a balance due.

If you previously made a partial payment of $50, the remaining $50 is due now! If you have not yet made any payments, please pay the full $100 at this time. These fees are used to fund special instructors and clinicians who are brought in to work with each Band and instrument section in preparation for LGPE. Fees will also be used to purchase music, instruments, instrument accessories and electronic equipment that are needed to make the different ensembles within the Band program function. Concert Band fees are not included in Marching Band Fees! Please pay these fees to support our fantastic Band program!

ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY: CHS MARCHING BAND BONDS WITH 8TH GRADERS!

Once again, the Mighty Marching Knights proudly represented Centennial High School on Friday night when the Band hosted 8th grade band members from Holcomb Bridge and Haynes Bridge Middle Schools. Our high school students assisted these 8th graders first while rehearsing in the band room and then while playing the National Anthem and stand tunes. The unity of these band students from all three schools always creates an infectious band spirit. Video coming soon under the About Us tab of the half time show.

A very special thanks to Becky Loedding for organizing 8th Grade Knight! Also, many thanks to all of the parents who volunteered. This event requires many more helping hands than a normal football game and we greatly appreciate your efforts!

“LEGACY OF CHAMPIONS” MARCHING BAND COMPETITION

The Mighty Marching Knights definitely had a busy and exciting weekend! After the victory over North Atlanta HS paired with 8th Grade Knight on Friday night, the excitement continued on Saturday when the Band competed at the Carrollton HS “Legacy of Champions” Marching Band Competition in the AAA Silver Division.

We are proud of our Band for receiving an overall score of Excellent with scores of 2 (Excellent) in these categories: Color Guard, Percussion and Band. Congratulations to our Drum Majors for their score of 1 (Superior)!

Many thanks to the parents who volunteered by giving their all late into the night!

Join the football team and band next Friday, October 20th, at home vs. Dunwoody HS. This game will also be Senior Knight when all marching band, football, cheer and other Fall sports seniors will be honored. Seniors remember that your Bio Form is due no later than Monday, October 16th. We will send reminders and more details about this game on Thursday via email, and it will be posted on this website. Wear your band spirit gear (available under Spirit Gear tab above) and show our proud spirit!

OCTOBER 28TH: “THE CONQUEST” MARCHING BAND COMPETITION

The Marching Band’s last competition will be “The Conquest” at Allatoona HS (3300 Dallas Acworth Hwy., NW, Acworth, 30101) on Saturday, October 28th. Please make note of the following schedule:

  • 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. – Rehearse at CHS
  • 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. – Pack and Load Truck
  • 4:00 p.m. – Depart for Allatoona HS
  • 5:30 p.m. – Buses Arrive at Allatoona HS and Students Eat Subway Sandwiches (see below)
  • 6:40 p.m. – Warm-up
  • 7:40 p.m. – CHS Performance Time
  • 9:30 p.m. – Awards Ceremony
  • 11:00 p.m. – Arrive at CHS
  • 11:30 p.m. – Approximate Dismissal

Since report time is not until 12:30, students should eat a meal before arriving. The next time that there will be an official break time to eat will be upon arrival at Allatoona at 5:30 when students will eat dinner. The band boosters will provide Subway sandwiches for dinner. All students, staff and volunteers were emailed a Google Doc to choose their sandwich type. If you did not respond to this request, you will get a turkey sandwich that day.

The gates will open at 6:00 p.m., and we highly encourage families and other band supporters to attend this event. Please realize that this is a small competition with only five bands competing. Then, Allatoona’s band will perform followed by the University of West Georgia band. It is truly incredible to view the talent displayed by these bands. So, come on out to not only support our Mighty Marching Knights but also several other bands from around the state. For more information on the competition, click here.

We will send reminders and more details about this event on Thursday, October 26th, via email and it will be posted on this website.

Fundraising

 SHEET SALE FUNDRAISER

This one's for you! Earn credit for your band account by selling sheets. Credits can be applied to anything paid for through this website including concert band fees, spirit gear or concert dresses. Credits do not expire until you graduate.

The Band's sheet sale fundraiser will run October 1st - November 7th. A typical sheet is 1800 thread count, and they come in all colors and sizes (regular twin fits on twin XL beds - perfect for college). Each set costs $40, regardless of size, which is a fantastic price for such high quality sheets! For each set that a student sells, he/she will earn $10 towards his/her band account. Paper order forms are now available in the band room. Please complete all orders (with order forms or online) by November 7th! Completed order forms can be placed in the designated box in Mr. Reid's office. The sheets will be delivered before Winter Break, so they make great gifts.

You can also visit the website, www.CoZzzyComfy.com, and the Band/your student will get credit for online sales! At checkout, select the online code: CHS Band Boosters. Also, enter your band student's name in the Student/Group Member name box in order for him/her to receive credit. Use the website for out of town purchasers - sheets can be shipped directly.

Questions: contact Amy Kennedy.
